About this search
ICD-10-CM codes come from the official CMS tabular list. A code is billable only at its most specific level; category and subcategory headers can't be reported. Some codes, mostly injuries, need a 7th character such as A (initial encounter), D (subsequent) or S (sequela). Notes on a category apply to every code below it, so the tool shows them on each code.
HCPCS Level II codes (letters A–V) cover drugs, supplies, equipment, ambulance and some services. The tool also shows HCPCS modifiers such as XE, RT and GT.
CPT codes and CPT modifiers aren't included because their descriptions are copyright the American Medical Association, and dental (D) codes are copyright the American Dental Association. For CPT codes, use the fee lookup or the NCCI edit checker. This tool isn't coding advice; always confirm against the code book and the documentation.
